Full Movie Of Titanic! Your Thanksgiving free movie list is two movies long, but what movies! Unlike Halloween (that I offered a list of 100 free scary movies here), Thanksgiving uses a different twist. Neither could well be specific to Thanksgiving, nevertheless they relate to some themes with the holiday. Frankly, I can enjoy these free movies for Thanksgiving and for any day from the year.

Big oil company propaganda with a heart! Just the free movie we want for Thanksgiving! This 78-minute semi-documentary from 1948 is one of the most lyrical American films ever produced. In 1994, The Louisiana Story was selected for preservation inside the United States National Film Registry by the Library of Congress to "culturally, historically, or aesthetically significant." It is the story of an Cajun boy and the family, living about the bayous in such a way of life that individuals can barely imagine.
The boy's family rents land for the oil company, which comes in, drills, leaving everything much like it was, clean and unspoiled apart from the family includes a little more money. (Yes, it was funded by the Standard Oil Company.)
The boy spends the majority of his time on his narrow boat (pirogue), floating down the bayous, prime snake and alligator habitat, with his pet raccoon. He never wears an existence preserver or shoes... doesn't actually have a cell phone to contact case he gets in danger. There is not much story, just a celebration (such stunning black and white photography that you may well wonder just what the big deal is about color) of a way of life which is no longer along with us.
All of the actors were amateurs, and then for most, this is their only film. As of April 2007, J.C. Boudreaux, who unquestionably boy, was living in a FEMA trailer with his wife of fifty-five years, after Hurricane Rita destroyed their house. (source). He had the opportunity at fame in the movies, but that they stayed where he was from and apparently knew growing up an appreciation of family (a married relationship of over five decades) reflects why I consider The Louisiana Story the right free movie first of our most family-friendly holidays.

A grayscale silent film that ends with a woman being burned alive? Oh, yes, precisely what every family needs at Thanksgiving. But, I have three reasons for including The Passion of Joan of Arc in this pair of free movies for Thanksgiving.
First, I am thankful that The Passion of Joan of Arc was ever produced. Second, I am thankful that The Passion of Joan of Arc was preserved. The director Carl Theodor Dreyer (more) died thinking that the last copy was destroyed. In a little weirdness that sounds a lot more like a movie than the truth, a virtually complete print was discovered in 1981 inside a janitor's closet of an Norwegian mental institution.
Finally, I am grateful that we can watch this magnificent film, on many lists in the greatest films of all time, at no cost online at Gloria.tv, a Roman Catholic video site.
Maria Falconetti (more), who plays Joan, suffered a difficult breakdown throughout the making of the film, and she never made another film. Pauline Kael (more), a notoriously demanding film critic, declared that Falconetti's performance "may be the finest performance ever upon film."

I will add that a film that deals which has a person who had such strong beliefs - and accepted the consequences - is definitely an appropriate film for Thanksgiving... or every day.
